Vat Sangkhalock’s viharn is in the simple style of a porch, three naves and four bays. It was one of the most important places for the celebration of the Laotian New Year. The authorities in the ancient period gathered here for the ritual sprinkling of the Buddha status and to observe the Pou Gneu Gna Gneu dance.

INTERESTING STORIES

 

Oral tradition tells that the vat was built on marshlands where a legendary conch-dragon lived.
